Best Season

Spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) offer optimal conditions with comfortable temperatures (50-70°F) and vibrant landscapes. Navigation: Two-thirds of the Southern Loop follows gravel county roads with gray diamond markers. Private property fragments the landscape—do not trespass or bushwhack. Carry a detailed map and track your route carefully.

Getting There

Trailhead Access: - Dry Fork Recreation Area: From Ashland, take Highway Y east to County Road 363, stay right on County Road 361.
